Gary Lee Jungjohan

    Gary Lee Jungjohan, the son of Clarence and Ida (Hass) Jungjohan was born February 15, 1941, in Cherokee, Iowa. His childhood years were spent in the Sutherland, Iowa, area where he attended country schools and graduated from Sutherland High School.

    Gary started farming at a young age and enjoyed it his entire life. He married Nancy Pingel on September 1, 1961, in Sutherland, Iowa. Besides farming, Gary enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, working on cars, riding/breaking horses, riding motorcycles, and spending time with family. He was a member of Sutherland Saddle Club and Bethel Lutheran Church in Sutherland.

    Gary passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2019, near his farm in Sutherland at the age of 78. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Nancy; and one brother-in-law, Bob Pingle.

    Left to cherish his memory are his five children: Terri (Jimi) Dorland of Big Spring, TX, Wendi (Bill) Felderman of Dubuque, IA, Jodi (Brad) Smith of Primghar, IA, Craig (Deb) Jungjohan of Spirit Lake, IA, and Cory (Shannon) of Spirit Lake, IA; 14 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Milo (Jan) Jungjohan of Terril, TX, and Keith Jungjohan of Quitman, TX; in-laws, Cheryl and Frank Fogelman of Sutherland, IA, and Jean Pingel of Monticello, IA other relatives; and many friends.
