Ethan James Lindsay

     Ethan James Lindsay, the son of James and Grace (Mott) Lindsay was born August 19, 1928 in Newell, IA. His childhood years were spent in the Newell area where he attended Newell High School. After high school Ethan began his lifelong career in farming.

     Ethan married Marilyn “Mary” Dierenfield on November 1, 1996 in Newell, IA. He enjoyed gardening, square dancing, and fishing. He sang for church services, took care of his parents in their later years, and helped at the Newell Nursing Home. He was member of Faith Hope and Charity where he read to children, Singles Club, and Christ the King Lutheran Church.

     Ethan passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2020 at the Spencer Hospital at the age of 91. He was preceded in death by his parents.

     Left to cherish his memory are his wife Mary of Spencer, IA; 4 stepchildren, Tammy (Jeff) Brophy of Jefferson, IA, Todd Olson of Phoenix, AZ, Janelle (Kory) Woodruff of Lisbon, IA, and Jason (Angie) Anderson of Spencer, IA; 8 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; other relatives; and many friends.
