Esther Louise Baxter

     Esther Louise Baxter, the daughter of Charles and Minnie (Moeller) Henaman was born September 29, 1930 in Hartley, IA. Her childhood years were spent in the Spencer, IA area, where she attended school and graduated from Spencer High School on May 27, 1948.

     Esther worked at the telephone company before marrying Harvey Baxter on November 13, 1950 in Jackson, MN. She enjoyed working with animals, especially horses and chickens. She encouraged her children and grandchildren to work with livestock and participate in 4-H.  She was a founding member of Reigns of Hope, Progressive Club, 4-H and Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spencer.

     Esther passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at her home, at the age of 89. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harvey; 2 grandchildren: Stephen Spory and Todd Wittrock; 5 brothers: Phillip, Earl, Howard, Roy and Vernon; 6 sisters: Geraldine Vandemark, Doris O’Hearn,  Verla Rhodes, Ruby Hughes, Velma Grover and Jean Schroeder.

     Left to cherish her memory are 5 children: Rebecca (Mike) Wittrock of Spirit Lake, IA, Harvey, Jr. (Joann) Baxter of Cross Lake, MN, Jane Baxter of Linn Grove, IA, Bradley (Lisa) Baxter of Scottsdale, AZ and Daren (Lisa) Baxter of Spirit Lake, IA; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one brother, Darrell Henaman of Lyle, MN; her cat, Missy; other relatives and many friends.

SERVICES
Private Family Services

 In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the family and then will be directed to 4H and Reins of Hope in Esther‘s name.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
