Doris Hendrene DeBoer

Doris Hendrene (Rensink) DeBoer of Spencer, Iowa passed away on Feb 23, 2026, at St. Luke Lutheran Nursing Home. She was born on Nov 29, 1931, the youngest of six siblings, to Mary and Henry J. Rensink of Boyden, IA where she spent her childhood and attended school. Doris married Louis R. DeBoer of George, IA in 1952 and shortly after moved to Melvin, IA where she lived until 2005 when she moved to Spencer. During the early years of their marriage, they welcomed six children to their family.

When time allowed, Doris enjoyed visiting relatives and friends as well as working various jobs in the evenings and weekends. Among her favorite activities were the years she spent as Cub Scout leader and her time as an in-home caretaker for the elderly.

She is survived by her six children, Amaralus / Amy (Ray) Kauten of Randalia, Iowa; Justin (Sue) of Crescent, Iowa; Preston (Darcy) of Hartley, Iowa; Jonathan / Joey (Dawn) of Spencer, Iowa; Bernie of Hartley, Iowa and Doug (Linda) of Miller, South Dakota. She was a loving grandmother to eleven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

A private family graveside service will be held at a later date. It is requested that in lieu of flowers a donation be given to the charity of your choice.
