Donna Jean Frans

     Donna (Deaner) Jean Frans, daughter of Virginia (Richter) Koenen and Donald Koenen, was born January 18^th, 1945 in Storm Lake, IA.  Donna lived in Spencer, attending and graduating from Spencer High School, in 1963. After graduation, Donna attended business school, and married Doug Rose in 1966, and later divorced. Donna worked at KICD Radio station and later at the Clay County Engineers office until retirement.  Donna married John Frans June 20^th, 1978 and celebrated 37 happy years together.

     Donna had many interests and hobbies, especially gardening, reading, feeding and watching birds & wildlife. Donna was an avid cat lover, having many furry companions during her lifetime. Donna loved volunteering, which included Clay County Fair judging, bowling league, Many Hands Market, Moose Lodge member and Johnson Elementary School, assisting young readers with learning to read as much as she did.  She also was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church.

     Donna passed away on November 3rd, 2018. In keeping with her wishes, she was cremated.

     Donna is survived by her son, Chad Rose and wife, Monica of West Des Moines; four grandchildren: James (Katie) Jessen of Phoenix, AZ, Jeff (Naly) Jessen of Newton, IA, Jennifer Jessen of Des Moines and Josie Jessen of Stockton, Missouri. her sisters: Linda (Tom) Valdahl of Decatur, IL, Patti (Ivan) Pixler of Custer, S.D. and many, many other friends and family. She is preceded in death by her husband, John and her parents.
