Delbert Earl Dodge

     Delbert Earl Dodge, the son of Wayne and Hazel (Suss) Dodge, was born June 23, 1944 in Spencer, IA.  He was raised in rural Terril and Milford area and received his early education at the Milford Community School.  Following his schooling, Delbert entered the United States Army serving from 1964 to 1965 as a Company Clerk.

     On August 29, 1965, Delbert married Marilyn Struss in Milford, IA.  Following their marriage, they lived in the communities of Royal, IA, Albert Lea, MN, Terril, IA until moving to Dickens in 1972 where he farmed.  Delbert was a member of the Langdon Methodist Church.   In his spare time, Delbert loved spending time with his family, playing cards and grilling by the pond.

     On Thursday, May 30, 2024, Delbert passed away at the Spencer Hospital at the age of 79.  He is preceded in death by his parents; son, David; brother, Russell and sister, Joy.

     Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Marilyn of Dickens, IA; two sons: Scott (Susan) Dodge of Milford, IA and Dan (Brenda) Dodge of Okoboji, IA; 7 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; sister, Valois (Don) McCabe of Denver, CO; other relatives and friends.
