Daniel Joseph Kinlen

     Daniel Joseph Kinlen, the son of James II and Viola (Schweder) Kinlen was born on December 27, 1954 in Milwaukee, WI.  He grew up in Naperville, IL and attended high school at Loyola Academy and college at the University in Evansville. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1972 and served as an Army Airborne Ranger Pathfinder until his Honorable Discharge in 1978.

     Daniel started his computer career working at the VA in Chicago.  After moving to Minneapolis, MN, he married Kaylene Jeppeson on July 19, 1996 at Grace United Methodist Church in Spencer, IA. Before his retirement in 2018, he spent the final years of his career with Optum/United Health Care as a Manager of MQ/IT Operating Systems.

     Daniel enjoyed fishing with friends and neighbors and having his annual Northend Fishfry.  He loved hunting, riding motorcycles, being on Lake Okoboji and especially spending time with family. He was a member of the Spirit Lake V.F.W. and Great Lakes Fishing Club. Daniel will be remembered as a wonderful, kind hearted and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.

     Daniel passed away on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Mayo Hospital in Scottsdale, AZ, at the age of 64. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, James III Kinlen; and one sister, Angela Glessner.

     Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Kaylene of Spirit Lake, IA; 2 children, Sharee Kinlen and friend Christian Bayer of Eden Prairie, MN and Justin Kinlen of Rosemont, MN; one grandson, Odin Behrens; one sister, Sister Maria Kinlen of Sun City West, AZ; one niece, Prudence Kinlen-Bates; and one nephew, William Glessner.

     Also to cherish Dan’s memory, the Jeppeson family of Michael and Zona Beck, Allen and Javotte McCarty and Jeff and Zoeann Roberts and nieces and nephews.

SERVICES
Memorial services will take place 10:00 A.M., Saturday, March 23, at Grace United Methodist Church in Spencer.
