Cynthia "Cindi" Hinton, 68, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving husband and three sons.
Cindi was born on January 30, 1958, in Canton, South Dakota, to Donald and Luella (Crawford) Huckfelt. In 1963, her family moved to Spencer, Iowa, where she attended school and graduated from Spencer High School with the Class of 1976.
On May 8, 1976, Cindi married the love of her life, Mark Hinton.
Together they built a beautiful life centered on faith, family, and hard work. They lived in Spencer before spending about five years in Webster City, Iowa, eventually returning to Spencer, where they raised their three sons.
Throughout her life, Cindi dedicated herself to both her family and her career. She worked in the floral department at Hy-Vee, later at Farmers Bank, and eventually co-owned Crown Inc. Construction with her husband.
More than anything, Cindi loved her family. She treasured large holiday gatherings, where her talents as an amazing cook and baker brought everyone together. She cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
Cindi also enjoyed riding on the back of Mark's motorcycle, boating and camping with family, and spending time outdoors. During the spring and summer, she took great pride in tending to her beautiful flowers and relaxing on her deck, where she found peace and joy.
Cindi is survived by her devoted husband, Mark Hinton of Spencer, Iowa; her three sons, Jesse Hinton of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Joe (Mandy) Hinton of Spencer, Iowa, and Sam (Lauren) Hinton of Brandon, South Dakota; her brothers, Jeff (Jackie) Huckfelt of Spencer, Iowa, Randy (Peggy) Huckfelt of Arnolds Park, Iowa, and Regan (Tammy) Huckfelt of Marion, Iowa; her grandchildren, Mariah (Patrick) Leach of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Alissa (Conner) Hinton of Emmetsburg, Iowa, Jensen Hinton of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Brayden Kruse and Brooklynn Hinton of Brandon, South Dakota; her great-grandchildren, Adley and Evelynn Crosgrove of Emmetsburg, Iowa, and Everly Leach of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Luella (Crawford) Huckfelt; her father-in-law, Robert Hinton; her mother-in-law, Dorothy Hinton; and her brother, Steven Huckfelt.
Cindi's kindness, warmth, unwavering love for her family, and generous heart will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy lives on in the family she loved so dearly and in the countless memories created around her table, on family vacations, and in the beautiful flowers she lovingly tended.
