Cheryl Marie Kern-Barglof

It is with heartfelt sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of Cheryl Marie Kern-Barglof of Spencer, Iowa. She passed away on Mother’s Day, May 10, 2026. Born on September 27, 1950 in Sioux City, IA.

Her daughters remembered her most by going to the lake, towing mom, dad and Bailey out to and from the middle of the lake and dropping the anchor so they didn’t drift away; lots of rag tag time; fishing nails and golf balls out from under the dock.

She is survived by her husband, Dave of Spencer; 3 daughters: Kim Jordan of PA, Tammy Erickson of TX and Lori (Jeff) Jones of FL; one sister, Leah (Doug) Hubbard of NE; stepchildren: Dave (Angela) Barglof Jr of VA, Melissa Barglof Johnson of MN and one “adopted” daughter, Frankie Kay; twelve grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren, also many nieces and nephews and special friends.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, one brother, one step son-in-law, one step grandson and one great grandson.

There will be a private family service. Her ashes will be spread at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Royal, IA.
