Carol Marine Drake

Carol Marine Drake , the daughter of John and Clairbel (Bonnichson) Plueger, was born on November 29, 1921 in Craig, IA.  Carol married April 9, 1942, in Alexandria, MN. To this union a daughter, Weyvon Charlene Drake was born. Throughout their married life they lived in Kentucky, California and Texas while Weymond was in the U.S. Army from June 1942 until his discharge in December 1945. They then moved to Spencer, IA. She worked at Hansen’s Clothing and Dry Cleaning and twenty-one years for F.W. Means and Company.

     She loved gardening, sewing, crafting and traveling with her husband and family. She enjoyed and loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of First Christian Church in Spencer.

     Carol passed away on Monday, December 16, 2019, at Longhouse Residence at the age of 98. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Weymond in 1993, two brothers: Lyle and Robert Plueger; a sister, Jaqueline Carson; a grandson-in-law, Steve Fox; two brothers-in-law: Jim Freel and John Mendez and a sister-in-law, Delores Plueger.

      She is survived by one daughter, Weyvon (Bruce) Will of Milford, IA; four grandchildren Kristin Strohman (Stacy) of Spencer, IA, Melissa Fox of Spencer, IA, Brandon (Delene) Will of LaVista, NE and Matthew (Terra) Will of Omaha, NE; 8 great grandchildren: Andrew (Heather), Jenna  and Nathan Strohman, Cassidy (Andrew) Christy, Cooper Fox, Nicholas and Drake Will and Embree Robertson; four brothers: Donald (Mabel) Plueger of Augusta, GA, Eugene, Kenneth (Connie),  Stanley (Pat) Plueger of LeMars, IA; three sisters: Armeda Freel of Gering, NE, Sondra Dougan of Denver, CO and Lawanda Mendez of Gering, NE; a sister-in-law, Sally Plueger of LeMars, IA; a brother-in-law, Eddie Carson of St. Joseph, MO; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
