Carol Jean Lenhart

     Carol Jean Lenhart, the daughter of Donald and Marianne (Rahbusch) Lenhart was born on December 25, 1958 in Hartley, Iowa. She grew up in the Sutherland area on a dairy farm. She attended school in Sutherland and graduated in 1977. Following high school Carol attended college at Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa and graduated in 1981 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education.

     Carol loved being with family but had a special place in her heart for children and it showed by the support she had for her nieces and nephews and the career she loved. Her nieces and nephews knew her love best as she enjoyed attending all of their activities. She also touched so many other children’s lives over the years.

     She worked at Faith, Hope and Charity in Storm Lake for over 17 years. She was a nanny to the Calhoun-Moss family in New York City for five years. Her most current position was the director at Noah’s Ark Daycare in Sutherland. Carol helped start Noah’s Ark Daycare where she put in long hours and hard work to keep it up and running for over 10 years.

     Carol was a lifelong member of the Sutherland Church of Christ.

     Carol passed away on September 18, 2022 at her home in Sutherland, Iowa at the age of 63. She will be missed but knowing the relationship she had with her Lord, that is our comfort.

     She is proceeded in death by her parents; sister, Lin Montgomery; special uncle, Edward Lenhart; and paternal and maternal grandparents.

     Left to cherish her memory are her sisters: Shirley Lenhart and Donita (Steve) Carlson; brother Ron (Wanda) Lenhart; brother-in-law Monte Montgomery; nieces and nephews: Angie (Chris) Kreibaum, Amber (Travis Wohlert) Carlson, Ashley (Jeremey) Wulf, Ben Montgomery, Brittany (John) Erickson, Luke (Courtney) Lenhart, Logan Lenhart, Brice (Amy) Montgomery, Landon (Maggie) Lenhart, Blair (Wesley) Whiteside; great nieces and nephews: Dylan (Erin), Dalten and Cambri Kreibuam, Tyson (Annika), Taylor and Tawni Wulf, Karianne, Kanon, Kiplin and Kyler Erickson, Coy and Cora Lenhart, Bentley and Braylee Lenhart, Emmitt Whiteside, and Owen Montgomery; great-great niece: Kyra Wulf; special friends: Cherie Harms, Shane Streufert, Mary and Sam Calhoun-Moss; many other relatives and friends.

SERVICES
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 A.M., Thursday, September 22, 2022 at the Church of Christ in Sutherland, Iowa.

VISITATION
Visitation will be open after 4:00 P.M., Wednesday, with the family present from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, at the Warner Funeral Home in Sutherland.
INTERMENT
Burial will be at a later date at the Waterman Cemetery in Sutherland, Ia
