Carl Douglas Waddell

November 28, 1953 — November 22, 2022


Carl Waddell, of Spencer passed away on November 21, just 6 days shy of becoming 69. Adopted at a young age by Lyle and Millie Waddell, he spent his free time working at the family lumberyard and learning construction.
He had many jobs through the years, mainly in Northwest Iowa, but did some traveling as a railroad man.  Carl was well loved by all that he met. He especially loved anything that involved hunting, fishing and being outdoors.  All of us kids learned at a young age what  "ice fishing ice" was & that it  was okay to only catch a "tree bass".  
Carl is survived by sisters Susan & Genevieve, & Brother Richard.  Carl had one daughter with Jackie Hales:  Janice & Doug Nielsen, Kyle &Derrick:   He had 5 children with Dee Meyer (Rassler) Jason & Katie Waddell, Justin, Darrin & Alyssa: Stephanie & Kory Schlenger, Seth & Amie,  Abigail, Reese: Jennifer & Jason Sharbutt, James, Nick,Hope, Dylan: Sarah & Shane Burger, Dalton, Kameron: Cortney and Shane Nelson, Sammy, Jaxson, Blake, Lukas.  great grands are Carson and Sydney.
Carl settled the last few years in Spencer with his wife Roberta(Bobbi) Waddell, where they enjoyed  fishing, hunting and taking motorcycle trips.
The family will be hosting a celebration of life memorial at Weasy's Lounge & Grille @ 216 grand ave. Spencer.   on Monday Nov 28 @ 1:00 P.M. Carl's 69th birthday. Please join us with your favorite "whoppers and fish tails".
In lieu of flowers, please drop all cards and donations to Warner Funeral Home.
Celebration of Life, 1:00 P.M., at Weasy's (216 Grand Ave. Spencer) Monday, November 28.
