Bryan Ken Harken, 61, of Spencer, Iowa, died unexpectedly after he was the victim of a fatal car accident on September 24, 2021.
Bryan was born in Waterloo, Iowa on July 9, 1960 to parents Kenny and Joann Harken. He graduated from Buena Vista University with a business finance degree. After graduation, Bryan was an Iowa Bank Examiner for two years. He became an employee of Farmer's Trust and Savings Bank in 1985. For the last several years, he performed the duties of the Chief Financial Officer.
Bryan is survived by his mother, Joann Harken; his brothers: Craig (Mary) and Kevin (Amanda) Harken; his daughters: Shelby (John) Haak and Lynde (Philip) Roach; his grandchildren: Gretchen, Josephine, and Harrison Haak, and Rosalie and Hayes Roach. He is preceded in death by his father, Kenny Harken and his son, Nikolas Harken.
By far, Bryan’s favorite pastime was enjoying his grandchildren. We were so thankful he was able to meet his newest one before his passing. He was the family's financial advisor, he was our “Mr. Fix-it", and we considered him our very own IT. He was known for lending a helping hand to anyone who needed it.
He was greatly loved and will be extremely missed.
