Bryan David Steven

      Bryan David Steven was born October 16, 1950, to Elmer and Dorothy (Berry) Steven in Spencer, IA. Bryan grew up in Spencer, he enjoyed spending his childhood summers on Lake Minnewashta, where he developed a great love for fishing and water skiing. Bryan graduated from Spencer High School in 1969.                                                                                    

     After graduating, Bryan went on to be a mechanic at H&N Chevy and the Ford Garage. After several years of working as a mechanic Bryan became a machine operator at Eaton Corporation where he worked for 25 years until he retired in 2009.

      On March 2, 1973, Bryan and Janice Koenig were married in Spencer. Bryan and Janice went on to have two children: David and Jodie.  Bryan was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with family, especially his adoring granddaughters. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing and traveling with family.

     Bryan is survived by his wife of almost 50 years Janice of Spencer; his son, David (Kelly) Steven of Spencer, IA; his daughter, Jodie (Ryan) Harms of Orange City, IA; his four granddaughters: Madison and Charlie Steven and Riley and Kenzie Harms; his brothers: Geoffrey (Marilyn) Steven of Reinbeck, IA, Keith Steven of Mason City, IA and Kevin Steven of Spencer, IA; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

     Bryan was preceded in death by his parents; his father, and mother-in-law, Robert and Rae (Beving) Koenig; his niece, Angela (Simonson) Rhoads and his nephew, Robert Erick.
