Beverly Jean Walstrom

     Beverly was born November 20, 1928 in Ayrshire, Iowa. Beverly was the daughter of Homer and Vera (Reynolds) Moore. Beverly grew up with her sister Barbara Moore Olson who resides in Sioux City. When Beverly was ten, the family moved to the Ruthven school district and when she was 14 they moved to the Gillett Grove School district.  While at Gillett Grove, Beverly played for the girls’ basketball team and finished her schooling. The family were members of Bethany Lutheran Church where Greg and Gary were Confirmed.

     On September 15, 1946 Beverly married Virgil Walstrom, son of Walter and Carrie (Hagedorn) Walstrom. They made their home south of Royal, Iowa where they were engaged in farming. Beverly was employed at the ASCS (farm program) until 1970 when Bev and Virg moved to O’Neill, Nebraska and became owner/operators of Best Western Motels. While in O’Neill, they were active in the community playing cards and golfing and also travelling. The motel was sold in 1990 and Beverly became employed at the O’Neill school system until she retired.

     Virgil passed away in 2006 and Beverly moved to Sunrise Retirement Village in 2011 where she enjoyed the company of her sister and made many friends in the retirement community. In 2019 Bev moved to Waterford Assisted Living in Omaha where she resided until her death.

     Beverly was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Virgil and granddaughter, Hilary.

     Survivors include 2 sons Gary (Cec) of Kansas City, Greg (Chris) of Omaha, sister, Barb of Sioux City, Grandchildren Anne Harris (Matt), Matt (Courtney), Ben and Cara and Great Grandchildren Mason, Blake, Lily and Braxton.
