Beulah Umscheid

      Beulah Jane Bonser Hanson Umscheid passed away October 7, 2022 at 11:15 p.m. Beulah Jane was born on January 14, 1932 in Spencer, Iowa. Spent her childhood in Arnolds Park, Iowa graduating from Arnolds Park High School in 1949. Beulah Jane was married to Wayne G. Hanson July 1, 1955. She married James J. Umscheid Sr. on August 25, 1981 in Deadwood, South Dakota. They made their home in Greenville, Iowa.

     Beulah Jane attended and graduated from Buena Vista College in Storm Lake, Iowa. She taught in various Iowa schools for 17 years. Beulah Jane was employed at Spencer Municipal Hospital for 23 years, retiring on January 21, 1993.

     Beulah Jane was a member of the Greenville Grace Congregational Church, the American Legion Auxillary Post 394, and served on the Greenville Town Council for 18 years. She always enjoyed working with children and being with her family.

     Beulah was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Beulah Bonser; her first husband, Wayne Hanson; her infant son, Timothy Lee Hanson; her husband, James Umscheid; brothers: Edward (Bud) and Earl Bonser; sister, Bonnie Remmers; and stepsons: Timothy Umscheid and Robert Hanson.

     Beulah Jane was survived by her two daughters: Cathy Jo Gerdes and Pamela Rae Best (Lance); her son, Thomas Hanson; stepsons: Anthony (Tony) Umscheid and James Umscheid Jr. (Jo); stepdaughter, Florence Teresa (Teri) Grange (Kent); 16 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and many other family members and friends.
