Bernice Aldean Parks

Bernice Aldean Parks, the daughter of Dewey and Bessie (Ginkens) Marsh was born March 14, 1930 in Jeffers, MN. Her childhood years were spent in Jeffers and Slayton, MN and Osage and Spencer, IA areas. She graduated from Spencer High School in 1949.

Bernice married Frank Parks on December 27, 1949 in Spencer. She worked as a cook for Spencer Hospital, and helped on the farm. She enjoyed puzzles, square dancing, and coffee with friends. Bernice was a member of the Township Club, Clay Co. Snow Broncs, Clay Co. Pork Producers and the Langdon Methodist Church.

Bernice passed away on Tuesday, October 28, 2025 at the Spencer Hospital, at the age of 95. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, her step-father, Bayard Taylor, and one grandson, Dan Parks.

Left to cherish her memory are her 2 children, Dean (Diane) Parks of Spencer, IA, and Denise (Jon) Troe of Albertville, MN; 5 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren; one brother, Melvin Taylor of Vancouver, WA; other relatives; and many friends.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Bernice's name.
