Arlene married Thomas Triplett on December 24, 1952 in Van Buren, Arkansas, while Tom was enlisted in the U.S. Army.  Arlene worked at various businesses including, Doug's Café and Lemke Food Market while Tom was overseas in the service.

She especially enjoyed going to all of their activities and spending time with the grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had many other hobbies and interests:  her flowers and garden (when Tom would not spray or pull the plants instead of weeds), dancing, reading, crocheting and knitting, calligraphy, cards, and games.  She was highly competitive in her card playing, always had a hug and smile for her family, and her last words to anyone leaving their home was “watch for deer”.

Arlene passed away at the Community Memorial Health Center in Hartley, Iowa on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at the age of 88.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Tom in 2019; a son, Blaine and daughter-in-law, Joni; 2 brothers:  John Giese and Donald “Gus” Giese and 2 sisters:  Colleen Friedrichsen and Violet Meines.
