Amy Lea Meyer

     Amy Lea Meyer, 53, of Spencer, received her angel wings as per her wishes on October 11, 2022.  She was born June 2, 1969 to Carol E. and James (Ace) Meyer in Spencer, IA.  She received her education at Spencer Community Schools.  She later attended college in Ft. Dodge in the early 90’s and lived in South Dakota in the mid 90’s. 

     Amy made her permanent home in Spencer, Iowa all of her life.  She lived and cared for her mother, Carol until Carol’s passing in 2021.  Amy loved to do activities with her dad and friends, holding family dinners.  She had a special love for horses and rescues, mainly dogs.  She loved to cook and host game parties with her friends.

     She passed away at the Sibley Nursing & Rehab Center at the age of 53.  She was preceded in death by her father; her mother in 2021;  and her grandparents: Earl & Norma Kraft and Christian & Rena Meyer.

     Amy is survived by her half brother, Dale (Kay) Meyer and her half sister, JoLynn (Randy) Carlson; several nieces and nephews; aunts and cousins; others include friends, Mary Storley, Sherrill Herke, Teri Kathman family and her faithful dogs.
