“Steph & Heather, very sorry to hear of Kate's passing. She was a good friend to my mother, brother and myself. She was a free spirit and gave zero ***** about what's anyone thought of her. The world is a blander place without Kate I. It. She will be missed. ”

“My sincere condolences to Kevin, Kristy, Stephanie and Heather s as nd Kathy’s extended family. Kathy was a very big part of my life from the time I moved to SR and for many years following. The old yellow bomb took us many places snd wore paths in the streets of SR. It drove us around as we shared the numbness we felt at the loss of JFK and Kathy made sure ole Yellow was there to give me a space to put the pieces together in some kind of form when I lost my father. No matter how long and how far away we hit it off like we had just talked the day before. Her voice blessed our wedding. If only we all could have such a friend growing up. Kathy, my friend, Rest In Peace and join the choir of angels in heaven. Love you gal!”

“To Kris, Kevin, Stephanie, Heather and the rest of Kathy's family: Kathy & I shared much over the years, but especially things related to music. Kathy was in a trio with me for several years--we even sang at the Buena Vista County Fair and at the funeral of our 8th grade teacher (Mrs. Gray). Kathy's soprano voice was like none other! It was truly a gift!
We shared many outings between the Remillard & Burr families, like going to Okoboji to swim and picnic on summer Sunday afternoons, having a cook-out at Burr's Cabin or going to a nearby lake to fish with Waddie and the kids.
Kathy was so thoughtful to stay in touch with my mom, Carol Burr, for many years. She wrote beautiful, thoughtful letters.
Now, remember Kathy for her thoughtfulness, her gorgeous voice and a few of her chuckles.
She was a friend I won't forget.
God bless each of you as you mourn the loss of Kathy.
Rest in Peace, Kathy!
Michele Burr Mickelson”
