Elizabeth Bouc Mart, daughter of Louis and Emma Urbanek Bouc, born on May 1, 1924, outside Touhy, NE. Passed away on May 1, 2008 at Marquis Place, Elkhorn, NE. Preceded in death by her husband, Vincent “Red” Mart on September 7, 1997. Survived by her brother Edward Bouc and wife Ruth of Daly City, CA, and her sister Kathi and husband Tony Carolla of San Carlos, CA.
Beloved mother of Joan, husband Rafael Sanz, grandchildren Laura, Daniel, David, Marisa, Rafael, and Martin plus great grandson Justo of Albacete, Spain; Ronald Mart, wife Cathy, grandchildren Tanya, Tasha, Jason and step-grandson Matthew of Columbus, Ohio; Sandra Abel and granddaughter Kate of San Jose, CA; and Marjorie, husband Richard Lochmiller, grandchildren Nichole, Richard, Stephanie and great-grandsons Keagan and Jayden (their “Grandma Buddy”) of Valley, NE.
Betty was born and raised on a farm, surrounded by many relatives, and went to grade and high school at Valparaiso, NE. She met her future husband while working in Omaha during WWII where they married on May 13, 1944. After the war they settled in Spencer, IA, raising their family and eventually starting their own business Zenith Pictorial Advertising, dealing in aerial photography and specialty advertising. Red was the pilot-photographer-salesman while Betty ran the office and did oil paintings. The whole family was involved in dark room work. They sold the business and retired to Mesa, AZ, in 1995. She will be greatly missed by her dear friends and church community of the past 15 years in the Mesa/Phoenix area.
Betty was a gentle, loving person of deep faith and a great love of fun, making her a favorite companion for card games and gatherings. Known for her good sense of humor, she enjoyed playing practical jokes on family and friends. She loved to travel to see family spread all over the world and especially enjoyed a visit to her ancestors’ villages in the Czech Republic. Her joy for life, her love of family and friends and her strong faith are her legacy to us all.
Through the mercy of God, may she rest in peace!

Joan, Just wanted you to know that we share a paper with a friend, which means I'm always behind on my paper reading. Just read the paper today with your Mother's obituary in it. So sorry for your loss. I assume you were in Spencer and wish we had known.

Hi, this is Suzi from Columbus, Ohio. I just wanted to express my gratitude unto the Lord Jesus for being there with Miss Betty. She sure wasn't alone when she died for He Was there. You see, He was there when she was born and He's the One who closed her eyes and took her spirit back to Himself. May you all be comforted by this. Love and Blessings to you all, Suzi

I remember meeting Ron's mom at our church service that we had at Friendship park here in Gahanna, Ohio. It was really cold that day and it started raining. Ron and his Mom and Cathy were sitting under this blanket like little kids and giggling and having a great time. It was so cute and very memorable for me. She did seem
to have a great sense of humor even though I had only met her a few times. That must be where her son gets his. We love you Ron & Cathy, Jason & Matt
